Toys in the attic is a somewhat watered down version of lillian hellman s play but enough of the original emotional savagery has been retained to satisfy those who prefer their melodramatic meat. But to american audiences brought up on disney and pixar the scene might be too frightening and creepy grotesque even to be considered appropriate for younger audiences. The story is reminiscent of williams as it concerns a southern family with lots of hidden secrets. Behind closed doors and in the dark we all wished that our dear and most treasured toys would come to life.
