Apply the alkaline cleaning solution mixed with water liberally to the travertine tile surface and allow it to dwell for at least 20 minutes. However it can also be the most vulnerable point in your travertine flooring installation as these spaces are susceptible to water penetration stains discoloration and the growth of dark unsightly and unhealthy mold. Travertine tile cleaning is slightly more complicated than other tile cleaning. Bottles cans and glasses with acidic drinks may etch the polish or damage the surface leaving a glass ring.

For regular cleaning use a mild neutral ph soapless cleaner mixed with water. Use an automatic scrubber with a disc brush for deep cleaning travertine.
